A low-cost, easy to install way to make
certain stand-by generators are getting their
"Exercise"... (Now can be connected to an optional remote
dialer for off-site monitoring of this critical
function!)
Every standby
power generator must be exercised regularly in order to maintain
healthy and in a state of readiness to meet any emergency. A
standby engine can fail to start for many reasons including lack of
fuel, contaminated fuel, dead battery etc. A regular exercise cycle
helps prevent some of these problems or at least gives a warning
that they are developing. The exercise cycle is usually performed
weekly by means of an automatic timer that is incorporated into the
generator transfer switch or control.
Many generators
do not monitor the exerciser cycle and warn if it does not
take place as scheduled. Unless a person happens to be standing
nearby when the generator runs, you have know way of knowing if it
exercised or not (except by recording the readings of the run time
hour meter). Consequently, it may not be ready when you really need
it.
Our new generator
exercise monitor with professional installation is especially
designed to solve this problem in a cost-effective way. The unit
monitors the exercise cycle to make sure that the generator
actually ran and produced power. LED Indicators on the unit
show the status "Exercised OK or Exercised Failed". These
indicators can also be viewed in a remote location, if desired. The
alarm output can also be connected to a dialer (option) that will
call a maintenance technician and warn of a fault.
This module will
work on any brand of generator and will not interfere with
warranties or the actual generator control.
